It's not often that in life we get to evaluate our purpose, map out our future and reflect on our past. I volunteered at Woodleaf, one of Young Life's properties. I had the chance to grow personally and spiritually and I was surrounded by people from all over the country who like me, wanted my live to count for something. 

I spent the month at Woodleaf- one of my favorite places to be. I was challenged to take my faith to a new level and learned how to serve like Jesus. Hundreds of kids lives were impacted through the month we served and it was incredible to watch lives change and kids having the best week ever. It was hard work and a lot of fun! I got to serve alongside one of my best friends- Cecilia Kolonie, be with Ann Shackleton and Scott Lisea and built some amazing friendships that I value to this day!

We took an awesome vacation to Hawaii and enjoyed Honolulu! 

We surfed, snorkeled, rented a car and toured, went to Pipeline, sunset dinner cruise, Dole Pinapple plantation, etc. Wonderful trip! Our favorite part was touring around the whole island during rain storms, seeing the secluded beaches, beautiful mountains and of course lounging on the beach!

Tree Swing and Family

As most of you know, I love being home. Our home is surrounded by huge beautiful trees. In our front yard there is the coolest swing. You don't sit on it, but it's a circular piece of metal that you spin really tight then hang out and go for a wild spinning ride. Greg spent some time with my precious cousin Sarah making her super dizzy. She has the sweetest laugh and I got the privilege of watching, taking pictures and laughing a lot!

The San Luis Obispo Young Life crew headed up to Woodleaf for the kids' best week of their lives! It was an amazing week of changed lives. I also had the amazing privilege of going with 3 of my cousins: Beau, Chelsie and Ariel! It was soooo awesome! 

Grandma Nettie's Here! Happy 4th of July

My Great-Grandmother Nettie flew out to Nevada to spend sometime with our family that's ventured away from Kentucky and onto California and Nevada. Along with her came two of our other Aunties who are quite hilarious! Kentucky being quite flat was a huge contrast to the narrow winding roads on the edges of cliffs in Lake Tahoe. My Grandpa Jerry took his mom and others on the scenic tour of Lake Tahoe thinking they would love it. Well, they hated it!! They were so incredibly freaked out by the cliffs they were driving on the edge of he thought they were going to have a heart attack!!!! Isn't that crazy! 

Anyway, it was great to see them laughing, with their great accents and hilarious humor! Can't wait to go visit them all someday!!

Cal Poly Graduate! Yea Greg!

After 5 years of studying Mechanical Engineering, volunteer leading Young Life at San Luis High, playing intramural sports, Kappa Sig events, and loving college, Gregory Paul Haskell is a Cal Poly alumni! Both Greg and Bree's family came down to celebrate this momentous occasion! We had a before graduation party at Bree's house and then celbrated again in Avila at Old Port Inn!

San Luis Obispo Young Life

Greg and I lead Young Life in San Luis Obispo at SLO High! We LOVE being leaders. It is the best way we can spend our time. We enter into the lives of high school kids by going where they are and being a part of their world. We share life, share Jesus and have the best time ever!!
